About Calgary Games
Calgary Games is a retro video game business based in Calgary, Alberta. We buy, sell, and trade classic video games, consoles, and accessories spanning every major platform from the 8-bit era through the early HD generation.
We started as a personal collection that grew beyond any reasonable size. When friends and fellow collectors kept asking “where’d you find that?” — we figured it was time to make it official. Now we serve gamers and collectors across Calgary and all of Canada.
What We Sell
Our inventory covers the golden ages of gaming:
- Nintendo — NES, SNES, N64, Game Boy, GBC, GBA, DS, GameCube, Wii
- Sony — PlayStation PS1, PS2, PS3
- Sega — Genesis, Dreamcast
- Microsoft — Xbox, Xbox 360
We carry games (cartridges and discs), consoles, controllers, memory cards, cables, and other accessories.
Every Game Gets Checked
We do not simply take old games, put them on a list, and sell them. Every game that leaves here has been:
- Opened — so we can see exactly what is inside the cartridge or disc case.
- Cleaned — cartridge contacts included, so it makes solid connection with the console.
- Checked for authenticity — we do not sell reproduction cartridges as originals. What you see listed is the real game.
- Tested on real hardware — we confirm the game boots, saves work where applicable, and everything plays as it should.
How Ordering Works
We keep things straightforward:
- Browse our inventory — each console has its own page
- Contact us — send a message with the items you want
- We confirm availability — inventory moves fast, so we double-check before you pay
- Pay and receive — local pickup in Calgary or shipping anywhere in Canada
No complicated checkout process, no automated cart. Just real communication with a real person who knows their games.
Payment Methods
- Bitcoin — save 5% on your order when you pay with BTC (accepted at current market rates, on-chain or Lightning).
- Local pickup — meet in Calgary, no shipping cost.
- Shipping — anywhere in Canada, confirmed with you before payment.
Other payment methods can be arranged when you contact us. PayPal is available on request but carries a 5% surcharge to cover payment fees.
Selling or Trading?
We’re always looking to buy collections and individual items. If you have retro games, consoles, or accessories you want to sell, get in touch. We offer fair prices based on current market values and we can pick up locally in Calgary for larger lots.
Our Original Logo
If you have ordered from us before, you might recognize this one. The original Calgary Games logo has been on our stickers, flyers, pamphlets, and eBay order inserts since we opened in 2012. We have updated our brand identity, but this one earned its retirement.
